A day by the river

Recently, Keith had to drop off some parts (way) up in McCall, so he thought it would be nice to take the family and make a day out of it.

On our way back down, we stopped at a little beach and let the kids play in the river.

...and to take some pictures, of course.

I sure hope these two will remain friends always. Not like my brother and I. Good golly, those were not fun times. We are definitely buds now, but that wasn't always the case.

Speaking of my brother. There's not a day that goes by that I don't look at Dylan and am reminded of him. I think he looks just like his Uncle Todd. Especially the freckles...but also the hair, the build...the whole package.

Is this not the cutest picture? I mean, really. Not only the one in the middle but look at Dawson's expression? And Karly's. Wow...I love this shot.

This water is coooo-ooold and he thought he was pretty brave venturing out into the 'deep waters'.

Every now and then, he shaves his face. It reminds me of our early (early) years. As in highschool days. He looks much younger without his facial hair...which is a big reason he does it ;o)

He's a rock skipper. Always looking for the perfect skippin' rock.

I really can't help but chuckle when I look at this picture. She is so darn cute and he is just...ummm, well...a goober. He's at that age where he just can't pose normal during a picture. That silly toothless age.

Although it was raining that day and not the warmest for the middle of August (52 degrees in McCall!) we still had a good time. I wouldn't mind 'dropping off parts' again.

Wow, how special! Spur-of-the-moment trips are the bomb.

It's so awesome to have the freedom to make every adventure and "trip" a learning experience and/or time spent together with the family. These are precious moments......
